CHRISTMAS IN OLD BOURNE VILLAGE

Visit the decorated Briggs-McDermott House, Carriage House, and Forge.  Refreshments will be served on Friday evening.  The Aptucxet Garden Club will sell greens and wreaths arranged  for the holidays on

Friday evening and Saturday morning.

ADMISSION IS FREE.

The Briggs-McDermott House, the Alonzo Booth Blacksmith Shop, and the Alan Green Carriage House will be open to the public.  The Forge will be operating, and a fine collection of vintage carriages will be on display in the carriage house.  Occasionally, costumed docents will be found baking old-time recipes in the vintage wood stove.  The Forge has a number of hand-made wrought iron items available for sale, such as mantle hooks, hinges, and triangles, and will be highlighted over the last two weekends of June.

This year we are featuring the music of Andrew Prete.  Andrew is well-known in the music world.  It will be necessary to place your order for lobster or a chicken salad roll before this event.

Saturday, June 8, 4pm - Annual Member Meeting

Members are invited to hear what's been happening and what's to come, and to elect the new board of directors.  A pot luck supper will be held at the Forge after the meeting.  Please join us, and if you can, bring a dish to share.  Seating is limited.  Please let us know if you will be at the supper with a phone call by June 3rd. Vintage Postcards from the

Villages of Bourne

​An extensive exhibit will be on display of vintage and antique postcards portraying life, scenery and people from all of the villages of "Old Bourne".

Tour of Four Bourne Boatyards

Tour begins at 10:30am at Ballentine's Boatyard containing many classic restored vessels, 1104 Route 28A, Cataumet. 

​11:30am at Bucky Barlows Boartyard- on the Pocasset River to view an old-time yard.  

12:00 noon will be a tour of Parker's Boatyard with complimentary chowder;

1:00pm at Kingman Yacht Center

Food, crafts, games, live music, horse rides, miniature petting ponies, weaving, attic treasures, country store, ice cream churning, cider pressing, & puppet show!

The Bourne Society for Historic Preservation is proud to present the historical Briggs-McDermott House! The Society’s friends and members have generously donated many furnishings to the Briggs-McDermott family and also maintain a period garden and small granite walled barn.

​This program  will be presented at the Bourne Public Library (directly across from the Briggs-McDermott House) by Beth Friend.  Space is limited.

​We will be exhibiting at the 3rd annual Cape Cod Museum Trail Festival to be held at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center at 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA

"Brunch at the Briggs-McDermott House" 

Tickets will be sold as part of a raffle at the annual meeting and eight lucky winners will be invited to the

first Brunch at the Briggs.
